Car-Free Sunday: mobility village in Jette
Place Cardinal Mercier/Kardinaal Mercierplein, Jette
On the occasion of Car Free Sunday, the Municipality of Jette, in collaboration with Pro Velo, is organising its traditional mobility village on Place Cardinal Mercier. Join us for a fun and friendly afternoon with plenty of free activities for the whole family, all centred around active mobility!
Activities and workshops:
- Cycling skills course in Garcet Park (supervised by a team of Pro Velo instructors)
- Bicycle repair workshops (minor repairs only) with Remorquable and les Mécanos du Coin
- “Pimp My Jacket” workshop with Thyll
- Wooden games and other fun activities
- Smoothie bike and go-kart circuit with Shinobi Riders
- Annual second-hand bicycle market organised by Velokanik (more information coming soon on their website)
All activities are free of charge.

Discover Jette with Itinéraires
Discover Jette’s hidden gems! Once a rural municipality, Jette began to urbanise at the end of the 19th century with the arrival of the Brussels-Ghent railway line. During the interwar period, the municipality saw the emergence of some beautiful Art Deco architecture. Jette has also been home to many artists, including René Magritte and Jean Roba. Today, ceramics and street art continue to keep this artistic heritage alive.

On Car Free Sunday, Walk.Brussels invites you for an exploratory walk through Jette to observe, discuss and imagine together a city that better meets the needs of pedestrians. How can we make our streets more pleasant, safer and more accessible? Come and share your perspective and contribute to the Pedestrian Barometer, a national survey assessing how walkable our neighbourhoods are.
