ARTICLE I. The Pro Velo asbl service provider (“the lessor”) responsible for the rental reserves the right to assess the participants’ ability and fitness to use a bicycle as part of the Pro Velo asbl service. The person renting the bicycle (“the renter”) declares that they are physically fit to ride a bicycle and have no medical contraindications.

ARTICLE II. The rented equipment (bicycle and accessories) remains the exclusive property of Pro Velo asbl for the entire duration of the rental. The renter may not lend or sublet the equipment to a third party, nor may the renter disassemble it without the consent of Pro Velo asbl.

ARTICLE III. The renter acknowledges that the rented bicycle is in perfect working order and agrees to use it with care, to maintain it, to return it at the end of the rental period in the same condition as when it was received, and to return it to the rental company on the date, at the time, and at the location specified in the contract. Any delay must be reported to the rental company. The renter is aware of the condition, size, and model of the rented bicycles. Before departure, the renter may test ride the bicycle. If the customer feels that the bike does not meet their expectations, they may request an exchange. Once the bike has been picked up, the customer accepts it as is.

ARTICLE IV. Pro Velo asbl reserves the right to charge the renter for any damage sustained by the bicycle during the rental period, either by deducting the amount from the security deposit or by issuing an invoice, to which the renter hereby agrees.

ARTICLE V. If the bicycle breaks down during the rental period, the renter may not arrange for repairs without the prior consent of Pro Velo asbl and must obtain a repair invoice. Under no circumstances may the renter claim damages for loss of use during the rental period.

ARTICLE VI. If the rental period exceeds the originally agreed-upon duration, an additional charge will be applied based on the hourly rate.

ARTICLE VII. In the event that the bicycle is lost, stolen, or damaged, Pro Velo asbl reserves the right to claim compensation from the renter in the amount of €517 for a standard bicycle, €2,081 for an electric-assist bicycle, €3,855 for a family or cargo bicycle, and €3,813 for a longtail bicycle, without prejudice to the retention of the security deposit. If the bike is returned dirty, Pro Velo asbl reserves the right to charge the renter a fee of €70. Prices for damaged accessories not listed here will be determined by Pro Velo asbl. Labor costs for repairs will be billed at a rate of 95€ per hour.

ARTICLE IX. If the renter violates applicable laws and regulations during the rental period, Pro Velo asbl shall in no event be held liable. Cyclists ride at their own risk and agree to comply with traffic laws.

ARTICLE X. Payment for the rental of a bicycle and accessories is due at the store before the start of the activity. The renter must present a form of identification. Pro Velo reserves the right to request a security deposit of €300 for any other type of bicycle. The security deposit will be refunded once the rented bicycle and accessories have been inspected.

ARTICLE XI. Driver Liability for Traffic Violations. The renter is criminally liable for any traffic violation committed while driving or using the rented vehicle. The renter shall pay Pro Velo asbl, upon first request, any fines, fees, expenses, and taxes resulting from a traffic violation committed by the renter. Shipping fees are added to each document sent. If requested by the relevant authorities, you authorize us to disclose your contact information as the driver of the vehicle. Any dispute regarding the validity of the fine or fee must be addressed directly to the authority that imposed it and will not affect the refund request submitted by Pro Velo.
